About Us

We are a congregation diverse in opinion but common in our commitment to Christ and one another. The accessibility of our building reflects the accessibility of our acceptance. Our worship services and bulletins are designed for visitors; we make a concerted effort to print everything necessary to follow the order of service, announce all the hymns and the "standing ups" and "sitting downs" and so on. It is important to us that visitors especially feel welcomed and included.

We are a congregation of the
United Church of Christ , a denomination formed in 1957 by the merger of the Evangelical and Reformed Churches and the Congregational Christian Churches.  St. John's itself precedes the denomination having been formed in 1868 as a congregation of the German Evangelical Synod of North America, a forerunner of the Evangelical part of the Evangelical and Reformed Churches.
Our building is a one-level, crescent-shaped structure with a natural, fieldstone wall forming the entire inner curve with a stone baptismal font, communion table and pulpit and a unique asymmetrical cross at the front.  We invite you to stop by to see our building and, if you wish, to spend some quiet time in our sanctuary.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call the church at (920) 994-4425.
